Shippensburg University hosts 30th annual children’s fair
On April 1, Shippensburg University will host its 30th annual Children’s Fair. This free event is designed to engage local children and their families with the university’s activities and programs. The event is sponsored by the Shippensburg University Education Council, which works to promote the university and its students through governmental and business contacts. The fair will also feature performances by local children. The event will conclude with a free hot dog and popcorn lunch for children. During the event, students and parents can enjoy fun games and face painting while learning about the university’s history, traditions, and achievements.
Students from the college’s literacy center will lead activities with local children and create informational brochures for parents. They will also perform a variety of reading and literacy activities for the community. The children’s fair is held in the University’s new H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center, which features state-of-the-art theatre technology and is convenient and easy to access. Parking is free.
